Konkani Catholic Roce Ceremony Attire
The roce ceremony holds significant importance in Konkani-speaking Catholic weddings, symbolizing the transition to bride and groom. While weddings today are lavish affairs with considerable expenses, it's disheartening that during the roce ceremony, the couple is often dressed in shabby attire, resembling beggars. My question is, if we're willing to invest so much in the overall wedding, why not allocate a modest amount, say Rs. 500 to 1000, for appropriate attire on the roce day? I urge for a departure from revealing clothing and cheddis, as after the application of roce, the attire may become transparent, which is quite unsettling. My plea is for individuals to dress respectfully. I aim to raise awareness about this concerning trend and advocate for the revival of traditional attire like kirgi baju and aad varl for brides, and pudve for grooms.
